As a youth leader your first step will be to discuss with your group leaders, parents and members to determine the feasibility of the trip. Trips will probably be planned around your local school schedule. Often Christmas and Spring breaks are choice times.

Ski Beech located high in the mountains of Western North Carolina redefines southern skiing with the highest ski resort, best snow conditions and wildest selection of ski terrain at 5506 ft above sea level. Ski Beech offers excellent skiing, day or night, a charming Alpine Village filled with intriguing shops, tempting restaurants and an ice-skating in picturesque Beech Tree Village. It is a winter wonderland of fun and activities for all members of your group.

Sugar Mountain, tucked away with in the breathtakingly beautiful Appalachian Mountains is North Carolina’s largest ski area. With it’s 1,200-foot vertical and one of the few resorts breaking a 1,000-foot vertical south of New England. The rugged mountain offers 20 trails and 8 lifts spread out over 115 acres. The lower mountain features a graceful gentle terrain, perfect for beginners. The summit, however, will surprise even the seasoned experts with several narrow, expert trails sporting 60 percent pitches. For snowboarders, there is the terrain park with a fun box, tabletop, spine, quarter pipe, rail slide and a brand new lift. Snowboarders are allowed on all trails.
